Description:Recording provided to be deposited by ToWeieve, Viviran Village, Toma LLG. Artist: Gordons Dry Boys Band of Kuraip Title: Various songs Recorded and produced by NBC RENB Studios, Rabaul, ENBP, PNG. The "Gordon Dry Boys Band" (often noted with the whiskey reference) was an active stringband in the 1990s from Kuraip village in the north coast of the Gazelle Peninsula west of Rabaul in East New Britain Province, PNG. The Gordon Dry Boys made popular songs which later there were remakes by power bands such as "Vavina Kuraip" track recorded by the Quakes Band and "Tutana Kuraip" track recorded by the Shutdown Band. These songs reflect the cultural significance of the Kuraip area within the Rabaul and Tolai music scenes, where string bands continue to preserve and evolve traditional ENB Gazelle Peninsula local sounds.
