| Description: | Mambesak was a West Papuan folk music group formed in 1978 at Cenderawasih University, closely associated with Arnold Ap, and known for promoting Papuan language, culture, and political identity. Mambesak co-founder, bandleader is Arnold Ap, an anthropologist, ethnomusicologist, lead guitarist and vocalist. The band members who also were co-founders and musicians are;Sam Kapissa, Eddy Mofu, Yoel Kafiar, Martiny Sawaki. Mambesak has a total of 73 songs under Volumes 1-5, 1979-1983) in multiple languages around 30 across the West Papuan region.
