Description:Luke Gitakulu and Patteson Pakule talk about the leluwo dance, seated outside the researcher's accommocation in Nyimââ village.
The project documents oral texts on traditions and daily life in the Reef Islands, covering 8 villages and 73 speakers ranging in age from 15 to 93. The materials were recorded in September-October 2015.
Patteson Pakule talks to Luke Gitakulu about the traditional dance known as leluwo. He describes the costumes worn by the dancers and how dance events would be organised, and sings two songs which would be sung during such dance events. Photos of Patteson Pakule wearing a leluwo dancer's costume.

Aka Tumwä Musa. From Otelo. Has previously worked for the Äiwoo Bible translation team. Worked as Field Assistant for the data collection in Otelo, Nyimââ, Laato and Nyiväle villages and participated in recruiting participants and explaining the project to local leaders, making practical arrangements, as well as participating as interviewer in recordings.
Aka Tumwä Nyingâbä. From Nyimââ, married to a woman from Nyimââ.
From Otabwe, married to a woman from Ngadeli. Lived in Honiara from 1974 to 2006, working in the police force from 1980. Has been living on Ngadeli since 2010.
