Description:In this little anecdote, Ljubov' Oxlopkova tells of a kindergarten teacher who comes to town for a course and decides to go to the hairdresser. Working in the kindergarten she is used to having regular medical checkups, and so when she is told to take off her coat, she automatically continues to strip down to her underwear. The recording is not very good, and in the middle the old fridge starts whirring loudly. There is also some discussion with Elena Kalinina to find the correct Negidal words for certain concepts. Recorded by Elena Kalinina and Ol'ga Birjuk in Vladimirovka in 2007, and transcribed by Brigitte Pakendorf in 2017. Transcription checked and translated into Russian by Galina Kandakova in July 2017; glossed by Brigitte Pakendorf and questions checked with Galina Kandakova. // Любовь Ивановна Охлопкова рассказывает про рассеянную женщину, которая привыкла к частым медосмотрам, и, придя в парикмахерскую, сняла с себя не только пальто и шапку, но и платье (и начала было снимать нижнее бельё, но тут вошла парикмахерша).
This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun’ and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings.
