| Description: | This very short narrative (44 seconds) tells how Galina Kandakova's son was setting off in a boat whose motor didn't start; only after she had made a ritual offering to the river were they able to leave. Recorded on 24.12.2005 by Valentin Gusev, Elena Kalinina, Nina Sumbatova, and Svetlana Toldova. A first transcription was made by Nina Sumbatova with Galina Kandakova probably providing the translation. The recording was time-aligned and retranscribed in ELAN by Brigitte Pakendorf, who also glossed it; the translation was checked with Galina Kandakova, with whom questions were also checked. // В этой короткой записи (44 секунды) Галина Ивановна Кандакова рассказывает, как её сын не мог уехать на лодке, пока она не угостила реку. | |
| This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun’ and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings. | ||
