Description:Rotika tells a story about an old man who falls sick and uses his sickness to make his daughters visit him. Every day he says he is going to die, so they come to see him. When he eventually dies, they perform the death rituals for him. The story tells a lot about the Gutob society, family structure, and death rituals. The text was translated into the local lingua franca Desia (Indo-Aryan) for investigating certain structures.
As the oldest daughter of the family she did not go to school but helped in the household. She still speaks Gutob very well.
