| Description: | This recording was made by Elena Kalinina from Galina Ivanovna Kandakova in 2009. A first transcription and translation were also made by E. Kalinina, probably with the help of G.I. Kandakova. In 2018, Brigitte Pakendorf transcribed it in ELAN, glossed it, and checked questions with G. I. Kandakova. In this recording Galina Ivanovna Kandakova remembers some taboos told her by an old woman: how to put knives on the table and how to keep them when they are not used. There is a taboo against taking a knife from someone since it might have a bad karma (so called „ochek“). // Эта запись была сделана Еленой Калининой от Галины Ивановны Кандаковой летом 2009 года. Г. И. Кандакова вспоминает запреты, о которых ей рассказывала одна старая женщина (бабушка ее мужа). Эти запреты связаны с ножами: как их класть на стол, хранить, когда они не используются. | This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun’ and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings. | ||
