Description:Lamek tells a story about ancient/primeval ("purba") Yaur people. He then re-tells it in Malay. The summary is as follows (based on the Malay): There was a giant dragon that was an enemy of the Yaur. The dragon wanted to destroy Knakaivor, a village on top of a mountain which at that time was the only Yaur settlement. The dragon attacked the village and killed almost everyone, but a woman and her son Meherida managed to escape. It was left to them to kill the dragon. They built two stone fences, planted bamboo spears along them, and waited. Many months went by; finally, they detected the dragon's approach. The woman heated the stones with fire and threw them into the dragon's mouth, while her son speared it with the bamboo. They killed the dragon. They cut its flesh up and hung a piece by each house the dragon had destroyed. That night, they stayed awake all night in the village and waited. When the rooster crowed the first time, they began to hear the sounds of livestock. When the rooster crowed the second time, they began to hear the sounds of children. When the rooster crowed the last time, they began to hear the sounds of people working in the village and everything was as it had been before.
Lamek is from the village of Napanyaur. He is the head of the Yaur tribe (kepala suku).
