Description:This is the story of an old woman, who lives alone and has very little food. One day two crows come and steal her last drying beans. The old woman is very angry at them, and tells them to 'eat her shit' as she throws stones at them. Because she now has no food the woman dies. When she comes to the afterlife the crows are waiting for her. She is hungry in the afterlife, so the crows offer her the peas that they took. They have turned to shit in revenge on the woman and her words. This story features in the picture book compilation. Transcription in book 2014-2 p 24-29. Transcription done with Sangbu Tamang, coughs and fills not marked. Where Nepali is used, Sangbu's preference is given in Syuba immediately afterwards in angle brackets, often usually only at the first instance. Funding for this recording came from the Firebird Foundation. Funding for the transcription of this recording came from NTU, Singapore. Recorded on a ZoomH4n with the internal microphone and a Panasonic HC-V720 video camera with a Rode Pro shotgun mic. Recorded on 28/01/2014.
