Coverage:Ethiopia

Description:Takkaale Buro performs two lyre songs with undetermined rhythm. File 001 includes Amharic, File 002 contains political praise that was probably triggered by the presence of government officials during the recording on a busy market day at Bonaara. Ihado (iyaado?) was noted down as a tentative name for the the second song (to be checked).
K'oyaaso is a potter, a person with abundant knowledge about Baskeet traditions and a musician playing the lyre, the woysa-flute and the zaya-trumpet. He is the father of 14 children and husband of three wives.
Yvonne Treis is a linguist and works on Ethiopian languages at CNRS in France.
