Description:The speaker first names some common forest trees. He then talks about the abnormal population structure of the forest vegetation: the forest is dominated by old trees "from the time of the Maharajas", saplings will no longer grow because the understorey is choked by Lantana. Things were much better when the Solega were allowed to burn the understorey periodically, because that would help seeds germinate.
