Description:Rdorje Tshering reads an incense burning ritual he recorded and wrote down in Roman script. The handwritten scriptures look very much like priest scriptures.
This man had had a stroke and was paralysed in one arm@ so he did not consent to be filmed. He was happy to be audio recorded. These audio recordings are readings from rituals that he had transcribed into Romanization (pinyin) many years ago. He was not very fluent in his reading anymore and made many mistakes. We took photographs of all the pages of the two rituals.
Henriette is the primary researcher of this language documentation project. She audio recorded this session.
Pincuo is documenting his own language in this language documentation project.
This speaker went along as part of the research team. He helped us connect to contacts he knew in various places and appears in several recordings. He also helped us record and took photos during various sessions.
