Description:In this video recording, the speaker Michael Palu is telling a kastom story associated to the traditional nelâ dance. The main character to whom the origin of nelâ is associated is the devil Melëke. The kastom story is about the kidnapping of a village girl by the devil during dance performances in the dancing circle (nöwë in the language).
Valentina Alfarano is the principal investigator of this project.
