Description:		This project is a part of PhD dissertation fieldwork, supported by the Endangered Languages Documentation Programme (IGS00166). The dissertation itself will focus on evidentiality in the language, but the documentation aims to encompass as broad a set of linguistic and cultural practices as possible. Most interviews were carried out by native Kichwa researchers, and are therefore monolingual in Kichwa. The topics addressed cover the recent history of the Amazonian Kichwa, folktales, everyday life and ceremonies.
		Elicitation of question words with Wilma. I wanted to do it with Nilo, but he has some health problems and has not been showing up lately. The elicitation's aim is to elicit question words, and it's been divided in two files, since as we were about 2/3 done, woodwork has started in a nearby workshop. Wilma seems to be a good consultant - I gave her situations and asked to say something grounded in the situation, and she doesn't get discouraged even if I have trouble explaining what I want, so that's good. The recording was done in the 'aula multiple' at the school, hence the background noise. It was just a sound recording with Zoom H4n and stereo mic. The aim of the elicitation was to get different question words, but also to check how the question forms would vary according to which constituent was questioned. The analysis will need some work, and I definitely need to work more on the tests for subject and objecthood. After transcribing it, I checked both files with Nilo - his comments were incorporated in the notes tier, both in Elan and in the export to Toolbox. I forgot to set date and time on the recorder, so both recordings' metadata show they have been recorded in 2008. I edited both files in audacity. The recording levels of the zoom were set quite low (mid-70s in the first place, due to noise from insects). Both were exported with +6db gain and switch of pan 30% to the right (Wilma was on the right channel). ZoomH4n + AT825 stero mic
