Description:This biography of Frans Sadung was taken at the house of Frans Bombang, close to the main Trans_Flores road. Occasional noises from the bus passing were interfering. He was asked to give his own biography without planning. This is a personal biogaphy of Frans Sandung, one of the prominent elders in Rongga. In this biograpy, he describes his personal history from his childhood to his current situation (in 2004): his family/clan, education, and jobs/positions.
The project aims to set up a comprehensive archive of the Rongga language and culture as a resource tool containing the core data and references on which further studies, analyses, and practical language-community programs may be based. The three-year project (2004-2006) has produced a variety of data as part of the archive. It includes audio and visual recordings, (ethnographic) notes based on interviews and observations, as well as anthropological or linguistic descriptions. At the conclusion of the project, a grammar and a basic dictionary have been already completed. More information on the project homepage can be viewed online at http://rspas.anu.edu.au/linguistics/projects/iwa/Web-Pages/RonggaPRoject%20-%20Home.htm.
