Description:This video recording was made at the outdooring of the paramount chief of the Avatime area. See references for more general information about this event. In this recording, the women arrive at the durbar ground, after parading through the town, in front of the chief. They are welcomed by the 'chairman' (who is a woman), who is not visible on this recording, but is audible because her voice is amplified. The women sing songs while dancing onto the durbar ground, the 'chairman' speaks some words and welcomes them. The singing is probably Ewe or Akan, the speaking is Ewe and Avatime.group of women sing, chairman speaks
