Description:A version of the historical story of Kokotsra. Kokotsra lived in Bansia and used to exchange food with some Saposa people. He would give them poor quality cassava pudding in exchange for fish. The Saposa people became dissatisfied with the situation. They invited Kokotsra to come and live on their island, and he agreed. On the way, Kokotsra dove into the sea to retrieve a coconut, and the Saposa people abandoned him to drown. He survived and returned home. He had his people arrange another food exchange with the Saposa people. Before the exchange took place, Kokotsra hid in a rubbish heap. When the Saposa people arrived, the Bansia people blockaded the river further downstream, so that they could not easily return to the sea. When the food exchange was over, Kokotsra jumped out of the rubbish heap and killed almost all the Saposa people. One woman escaped by swimming downstream with a clay pot covering her head.
