Description:Leo was born in Puto in 1949, but he grew up between Puto and another settlement further inland. He went to school at Tsimba. He used to suffer hunger at school, and because of this he would often run away. Two relatives of his grandparents generation used to make him return to school. One day the teacher rang the bell and the children didn't come. The teacher fought with one of the older boys. Another day the teacher started hitting the children with a T-square. Leo's head was cut, so he ran away. His relatives gave him medicine and he stayed away from school for a long time. He started going to school in Konua, and that was better than in Tsimba. He then completed two years of secondary school in Hutjena. He married on 6th July 1970. He had children, but one of them died. He stayed at home, worked in the community, and grew old. He suffered an illness which caused a severe headache and destroyed one of his eyes. Then the sight in his other eye deteriorated. Nowadays he sits down, talks to people, sleeps and sometimes walks around a little.
