Contributor:Petronila Uriavi
Coverage:Papua New Guinea
Date:2012-08-25
Description:The speaker describes how she and her husband cleared some land to make a taro garden. They first cut down the trees and plants, and left them to dry before burning them. Another day they came and planted the taro. When the taro was ready, she harvested some and brought it home. She cooked it and fed her children. They gave some of the taro to people in the village. Eventually a pig destroyed the taro garden, and they haven't made another one.
