Description: | Recording took place during primary school hours (08:30 AM-03:30 PM) at a primary school in a separate classroom. Recording was done by Dorian de Haan (researcher) between 1984-1986.
Goal of this project is to get a clear view of the command of Sarnami and/or Sranan of primary school children of Suriname origin and to study their command of Dutch.
The task is to retell a story about a boy and his football. Together the boy and his ball go to a football competition in the park. Unfortunately the boy and his team do not win. After the match he stops to order a fries. He puts his ball in the truck of a car. The car rides off. Fortunately, it stops for a pedestrian crossing where the boy takes his ball back and goes home.
Dorian de Haan is the coordinator/collector of this project. She is of Dutch origin. She works at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, at the Developmental Psychology department.
