		The project ‘Synchronic register variation in monolingual and bilingual Turkish’ aims to investigate variation in various linguistic aspects in the varieties of Turkish spoken in Turkey and in Holland. It focuses specifically on sociolinguistic register variation (formal vs. informal) and cross-linguistic influence (from Dutch to Turkish). The research is based on a corpus of transcribed spoken data, collected in both countries. This corpus, once transcribed and annotated, will be released to the public, and hence become available to other researchers. The team consists of Ad Backus (principal investigator; responsible for supervision and register analysis), Seza Doğruöz (Ph.D. student; responsible for the study of morphosyntactic variation), and Gülten Ozmük (assistant; responsible for transcription). The project runs from 2002 until 2007.

		He is from the city Elazig in Turkey;and is since 16 years in the Netherlands. His mother tongue is kurdish , but he can also speak turkish , arabic and persion language very well. He speaks turkish with a different accent and a strangeness to turkish language in his way of speaking. He mention the fact of diversity of the turkish population to be very important sociolinguisticly and bi-lingualisticly. He says to see the development of the turkish language in the extend of historical ethical and geographical facts . He mentions the importance of the language for the idendity of a person ; and that when one takes away your language than the idendity of a person will be taken away.
		He is a man from the city Elazig in Turkey; and is since 16 years in the netherlands . His mother tongue is kurdish , but he can beside turkish, also speak very well arabic and persion language. He mentions the diversity of turkish population to be very important sociolinguisticly and bi-linguisticly ; and he sees the development of the turkish language in the extend of historical ,etnical and geographical contexts or facts. According to him language means idendity of a personality ; and when you take away that from a person , than you will take away ones idendity.
		Investigator is from the city Corum in Turkey, but lived in Ankara. She is living in the Netherlands since 23 years.
