Description:ENGLISH: A woman and her kids talk about football and old photos of the Trumai people. The researcher suggested these topics as a way of starting the conversation, set the camera on and let the Trumai family talk freely. Given that the speakers were a little shy in the beginning, the researcher tried not to put too much attention on the video camera, so that the speakers could forget about it and relax. However, given that the researcher was not directly monitoring the camera, the image sometimes became a little out of focus. Despite this problem, the conversation is interesting to watch.
The purpose of the project is to document Trumai, a genetically isolate language spoken in Brazil. The archive consists of a collection of texts in the language, plus other kinds of materials relative to the Trumai culture, such as photos, drawings, songs, educational materials, etc.
A Trumai woman and her kids chat about various issues (football, old photos, etc).
The speakers talk in Trumai.
There are four main participants in the conversation: Speaker6 (who leads the talking), her daughters Speaker7 and 8, and her son Speaker9. The grandchildren of Speaker6 play around, but do not participate in the conversation.
