| Description: | Recording took place during primary school hours (08:30 AM-03:30 PM) at a primary school in a separate classroom. Recording was done by Dorian de Haan (researcher) between 1984-1986. Conversation is difficult to hear, because of noise. During the conversation it becomes better. | |
| Goal of this project is to get a clear view of the command of Sarnami and/or Sranan of primary school children of Suriname origin and to study their command of Dutch. | ||

| Dorian de Haan is the coordinator/collector of this project. She is of Dutch origin. She works at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, at the Developmental Psychology department. | ||
| Natasha is of Suriname Creole origin. It is unclear whether she was born in Suriname or the Netherlands. She lives with her grandmother, sister and 2 cousins. All 4 girls are teenagers. At home she speaks Sranan, at school Dutch and outside with her friends it depends. She prefers to speak Sranan ('it is my language') and she finds it not a difficult language. She is older then 11. She is in the last form of primary school. When she speaks Dutch she has a Suriname accent. Same girl as in 25M, 29C, 45L, 47G & 47H. | ||
| Sachine is of Suriname Creole origin. She is born in 1972. Unclear whether she was born in Suriname or the Netherlands. She lives with her mother, grandmother and her 2 sisters. At home they speak Sranan, but her mother doesn't want her to speak too much Sranan. When her mother is upset she always speaks Sranan, otherwise she sometimes speaks Dutch. When she speaks Dutch she has a Suriname accent. Same girl as in 25H+K+L, 29C 38B and 46K. | ||
