Coverage:Brazil

Description:ENGLISH: A Trumai woman narrates the myth about the origin of the manioc, whose main character is the seagull. In a certain moment of the myth, the various types of manioc eaten by the Trumai people are mentioned. The video was shot in the house where the Trumai speaker lives (a note: unfortunately the input for external microphone of the video camera got damaged during the field work, and as a result of that the video got a hiss on the background. However, it is perfectly possible to understand what the Trumai speaker says).
The purpose of the project is to document Trumai, a genetically isolate language spoken in Brazil. The archive consists of a collection of texts in the language, plus other kinds of materials relative to the Trumai culture, such as photos, drawings, songs, educational materials, etc.
