Description:This is a category which also designates idiomatic expressions. Different to the type ‎labelled as idioms, it is restricted to noun phrases which consist of two nouns or ‎noun plus adjective. The meaning cannot be deduced from the meaning of its parts. ‎Some head nouns are quite productiveː kah ‘head’ usually designates the top of an ‎item (e.g. kah kɪŋɛ ‘lip’), kɪmɛɛnɛ ‘something small’ (e.g. kɪmɛɛnɛ cɪŋɪ ‘bullet (lit.ː ‎something small of fire)’). Similarly with regard to its productivity is the noun kudu ‎‎‘vagina’ which is used to denote lower parts of something as in kudu kurtu ‘house ‎farm (litː vagina of house; beneath the house’. A variant of kudu is kɘdɘ. ‎Combinations of kan ‘thing’ and another noun and kɨmʌnʌ ‘small thing’ plus noun are ‎somewhat different in that neither kan nor kɨmʌnʌ can stand alone (e.g. kan hʊwan ‎‎‘iron (lit.ː thing empty/dry’ and kɨmʌnʌ kaŋal ‘lamb (litˑ small thing sheep)’. Also ‎kay ‘the one who does’ is a favourite first and bound part of a compoundː it often ‎designates professions (e.g. kay kɔlɔɔl ‘driver’).‎
