| In this session MD narrates one of the versions of the Hansel and Grethel story in Baure. The recording took place in his house in Baures and no other people were present. Although MD is telling the story, he does this very slowly and waits for the interviewer to repeat his sentences. In the last part of the session, the interviewer reads out loud the whole story in Baure. | ||
| En esta sesión, MD cuenta una versión del cuento de Hansel y Gretel (La casita de chocolate). Se grabó la sesión en casa de MD y no asistieron otras personas. Aunque MD cuenta la historia, lo hace de manera lenta y expecta de la entrevistadora que repite las frases. En la última parte de la grabación la entrevistadora lee todo el cuento en voz alta. | ||
| MD was born in 1932 in Baures. He is the half brother of AD and CD. He is a cattle owner (approx. 70 bovines) and a peasant. MD is a good Baure-Speaker but due to lack of practice not that fluent. He is very helpful in transcribing and traducing Baure-takes. Has a lot of knowledge of Baure history and customs. He knows to play traditional music on his flute and used to work as a teacher for culture in the local school. | ||
| MD nació en el año 1932 en Baures. Hermanastro de AD y CD. Él es un ganadero chico y tiene aproximadamente 70 cabezas de ganado. También trabaja agricultura. MD es un buen hablante del Baure pero no habla con mucha fluidez por falta de práctica. Él es una gran azuda en transcribir y traducir grabaciones en Baure. Tiene muchos conocimientos de la historia y de las costumbres de Baures. Sabe tocar musica tradicional con la flauta. Trabajó como profesor de cultura en la escuela local. | ||
| Femmy Admiraal is working as a linguist in the Baure documentation project. She has a background in both anthropology and linguistics. Her research focuses on the expression of spatial relations in Baure. | ||
