| JI (male) JI was born in 1923 in Baures. He was married to EU and died in 2005. JI worked as a rubber gatherer and as a peasant. He was elected as cacique of Baures and one of the founders of the Subcentral Indígena de Baures. He was a fluent Baure-speaker. | ||

| MD (male) MD was born in 1932 in Baures and is a half-brother of AD and CD. He is a cattle owner (approx. 70 bovines) and peasant. MD is a good Baure speaker but not that fluent, due to lack of practice. He is very helpful in transcribing and translating Baure-texts. MD has very good knowledge of Baure history and customs. He knows how to play traditional music on the flute and used to work as a teacher of culture in the local school. | ||

Tiene muchos conocimientos de la historia y de las costumbres de Baures. Sabe tocar música tradicional en la flauta. Solía trabajar como profesor de cultura en la escuela local. | ||
| EU (female) EU was born in Baures in 1936 and is the widow of JI. Se worked as a peasant and as a rubber gatherer. She is a fluent Baure-speaker and sometimes talks Baure to her friends. She has good knowledge of customs and traditional beliefs. She is very experienced in handicrafts (e.g. hammock weaving, making fisher nets). EU is an active member of the indigenous organization. | ||
| EU nació en Baures en el año 1936 y es viuda de JI. Trabajó en la agricultura y en la industría gomera. Habla el baure con fluidez y a veces conversa con sus amigas en el idioma baure. Tiene muchos conocimientos de las costumbres y las creencias tradicionales. Muy práctica en fabricar artesanías (por ejemplo hamacas o redes). EU es una socia activa de la organización indígena. | ||
| Swintha Danielsen is a doctor of linguistics and is practically administrating and organizing the Baure documentation project. She worked already in Baures between 2003 and 2007 and wrote her PhD thesis on the Baure language. Her research foci are the Baure dialects, hisorical dialect formation and Baure language history in general. In addition she is working on specific Baure morphological features and compares them within the whole Arawakan phylum. | ||
