Contributor (compiler):Bruce
Coverage:Australia
Mission Bay at Minjilang.
Description:A goup of informants walked from Minjilang Community down to the beach at Mission Bay to harvest the shellfish species 'Anadara antiquata', called kubiya in Iwaidja. This is the one and only time that women, children and men would enter the water, and, without any fear of crocodiles, spend a long time swimming along the shore while digging with their hands and feets in the seabed for the deliceous cockles.
