The prayer continues until the sacrifice of the chicken. Note that in the background one of the neighbours is listening to the Christian Wihu song of Mr. Chung Mawn, recorded in Myanmar. 2.20” The prayer finishes, and the chicken is strangled 3’35” A short prayer, in which Gapkhim sees that the omen for the coming year is good, based on the position of the feet of the chicken. 4’20” The chicken is proclaimed as dead and Gapkhim explains in brief the meaning of the omen He smears the blood of the chicken on the offering food of melon and yam and also on the ceremonial basket. 5’45” Final prayer (The video is timed as 6.08 am, which is probably the finishing time; Wanglung’s phone is a couple of minutes fast so this would have commenced around 5.55am,) nst-mos_20170101_02_WM_O_PreparingRiceBeer_Duration 1’21”, Extracting the rice beer. nst-mos_20170101_20_SM_JVC_Gapkhim_WihuSongAtMainPost_Duration 1’47”, Wihu song at the main post.
