Description:Royal Visit to Rabaul, February 1974. Recordings provided by Neville Threlfall in October 2024. SIDE A & B Queen’s Welcome, Queen Elizabeth Park, Rabaul Queen’s service, Pilapila-Ratavul by inter-denominational churches in United Church, Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran and SDA. Coverage by NBC nationwide in English, Tok Pisin, Motu and Kuanua with background singing of Kuanua songs. Various official speeches, choirs, traditional singsing of Tolai 'malagene". Choirs by St Mary's High School, Vuvu singing includes anthem song "God Save Our Gracious Queen" and George Brown High School, Vunairima singing "We welcome you our gracious Queen". Traditional presentation of gifts like shell monei (tabu) and local Tolai artefacts and entertainment performances by Tavuiliu/Navunuram villages with "Kulau" dance and Rabagi village with "Tabaran kakakao".
