| Description: | Mambesak was a West Papuan folk music group formed in 1978 at Cenderawasih University, closely associated with Arnold Ap, and known for promoting Papuan language, culture, and political identity. Mambesak co-founder, bandleader is Arnold Ap, an anthropologist, ethnomusicologist, lead guitarist and vocalist. The band members who also were co-founders and musicians are;Sam Kapissa, Eddy Mofu, Yoel Kafiar, Martiny Sawaki. Mambesak has a total of 73 songs under Volumes 1-5, 1979-1983) in multiple languages around 30 across the West Papuan region. The details of the full volumes and year of release dates need to be consolidated but what songs from various sources and volumes included in this item is below.
