| This bilingual dictionary (with approximately 3000 entries) includes the majority of the most common words in the Western Highland Chatino language (Panixtlahuaca, Oaxaca, Mexico). The entries in both the Chatino-Spanish and Spanish-Chatino sections include parts of speech, translation equivalents with different senses and subentries for derived forms. There are also illustrative sentences in the Chatino-Spanish section. Following the body of the dictionary, there is a section about the grammar (75 pages) and appendices that provide focus on particular semantic domains: names of fauna and flora, parts of the body, personal names and place names. There are also other appendices with cultural and anthropological information. | ||
