| Description: | In this session, Azeb (researcher), Asmelash and Abboye (research assistants) converse with Mr Awasa Ayyele about the construction of terrace on the sides of nearby hills on community land to plant grass and trees and prevent erosion. The initiative is made by local addministrators and Mr Awassa talks about the effect this can have on his land. The conversation also goes about how labour is organized for such community work, and how in general men depend on each other's support for carrying out heavy Agricultural work, working in turn in friend's farm. Women do the same collaboration among themselves when doing farm work like weeding and sowing. The recording was done outdoors, in the compound of Mr Awasa. His wife and two children were present. Parallel to the audio recording (made with Zoom 4Hn) presented here, a video recording of the session was made by researcher. Initial annotation of the session was made by Wudnesh Petros on a booklet using the Gamo script. | |
