| Description: | This is part of a series of conversatons with Mr Bunkula Gaido about a terrace-farm he was preparing. In this recording, assistants Asmelash and Abboye raise verious questions and comment on the work he was doing on the land. There were a number of onlookers including his daughter and son and a neighbour man who also takes part briefly in the conversation. The current (archived) audio recording was made by research assitant Asmelash, while Azeb made a corresponding video recording. Initial transcription of the session was made on a booklet by Abboye Alade using the Gamo script. Later Mark'os Mammude, segmented the file in praat and transcribed using the same script plus some temporary coding (e.g. using the capital form of vowels that are marked high tone-accent. Later the researcher (Azeb Amha) converted the PraatTextGrid files into ELAN and changed the transcription to IPA and made corrections. The file still needs to be checked for consistency, vowel and consonant length etc. | |
