		En 2011, comenzó el proyecto de colaboración Waorani, que involucró al investigador Casey High, de Goldsmiths University of London, al investigador norteamericano Connie Dickinson, y los jóvenes Waorani, Ramón Uboye Gaba, Inés Nemo Nenquimo, Meri Nenquihui y Oswando Opi Nenquimo como documentalistas nativos. El objetivo principal del proyecto es registrar prácticas culturales que cubren una amplia gama de temas y contextos, desde rituales e historias tradicionales hasta conversaciones de la vida cotidiana. El proyecto también tiene como objetivo producir una base de datos que incluya un léxico. El proyecto recibió fondos del Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, Londres, durante tres años.
		In 2011, the collaborative project Waorani started, involving the researcher Casey High, from Goldsmiths University of London, the north American researcher Connie Dickinson, and the young Waorani, Ramón Uboye Gaba, Inés Nemo Nenquimo, Meri Nenquihui y Oswando Opi Nenquimo as native documentalists. The main objective of the project is to register cultural practices that cover a broad range of topics and contexts, from rituals and traditional stories to daily life conversations. The project also aims at producing a database including a lexicon. The project received funding from the Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, London, for three years.

		Wao terero es un idioma sin clasificación hablado por algunos 2,800 Waorani en la area de Amazonia occidental en las provincias de Pastaza, Napo y Orellana de Ecuador.
		Penti Baihua lives in Bameno and is the son of the late Äwa Baihua. He is married to Daboto and has eight children. He is a strong Wao leader and activist, involved in many projects to aid his community and maintain and preserve the Wao culture. Wao Terero is his maternal language but he is also fluent in Spanish.
		Penti Baihua vive en Bameno y es el hijo del Äwa Baihua. Está casado con Daboto y tiene ocho hijos. Él es un fuerte líder y activista wao, involucrado en muchos proyectos para ayudar a su comunidad y mantener y preservar la cultura wao. Wao Terero es su idioma materno, pero también habla español.
		Ñama Baihua lives in Bameno and is the son of Kempere Nihua. He is married and has several children. His maternal language is Wao Terero, but he also speaks some Spanish.

		Kempere Baihua lives in Bameno. He is married to Meñemo and has several children. He is the brother of Äwa Baiwa. Kempere holds the honor of being a "father of the jaguar" and in his youth was known as a fierce warrior. He is well versed in wao culture and is a reknowned hunter.
