Coverage:Mexico
Date:2009-06-15
Description:This is the legend of the curse in San Jacinto Tlacotepec. A priest arrived with the duty of giving mass and worship in the village. The people did not want him around so they disrespected him. He shook his pant leg (leaving the curse) and left town. Shortly after the townspeople began figthing amongst themselves and killing one another recklessly. This story came up during the ethnomedicine study on the PDLMA summer season in 2009. It is supposedly a true story related to TCR by his father. There is a Spanish retelling that begins at 1:38 after the Chatino relation. Audio duration [00:03:24]
