| An audio recording of twenty-four minutes and thirty-seven seconds, transcribed, parsed, glossed and translated into Spanish and English in which Alfonso Aguavil interviews Pone1 concerning various topics concerning ‘janpeno’ or shamanism. (#1 of 6). The interview begins with a discussion of agricultural practices. Then Pone1 talks about how he entered into the study of ‘janpeno’ at the age of eight with the late Abraham Calazacón. He describes in detail the process by which a young ‘pone’ apprentice is trained, including descriptions of specific experiences including various visions. There is extensive description of various spirits. In addition he talks about the characteristics of ayahuasca and the difference between the western and the Amazon varieties. | ||
